Trip Itinerary

Option 1
Day 1
We will leave Sapa at 9.00am and trek down to Cat Cat village, to visit a waterfall at the bottom of the hill. After a slight retrace of steps we will turn towards Y Linh Ho village. Along our way to Y Linh Ho, we will see rice paddies over 150 years old and mountains from 1200m to 3143m high surrounding the village. The inhabitants in this village are mainly the Hmong minority. This is a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in true Hmong culture! From Y Linh Ho we will move toward Lao Chai village, also a village of the Hmong people, an established Hmong minority village which has been inhabited for centuries. Once we reach Lao Chai, we will visit a small catholic church that was built in the year 1927 and of cours houses of the inhabitants. After a short visit and passing we continue to Ta Van, a village of 3 different groups which are DZay, Hmong, and Red Dao people. Along the way we will see a lot of products of the tribles drying right on the side of the street like, incense, cardamom, cinnamon ect… You will be warmly welcomed by the family, enjoy your stay with a warm shower and have fun learning and helping the homestay to prepare your dinner.
Day 2
Waking up with totally different view and atmosphere, you will have breakfast and then leave when you are ready. Again start walking along many rice fields through villages and a small bamboo forest and waterfall. A village of the Red Dao and Hmong ethnic groups, living in the same village with very different language and clothing. You will stop over for lunch here, after lunch you will continue to a village called Su Pan and back to the village where you had lunch for the pickup to SaPa.
Option 2
Day 1
Start at 9:00am with a 3km trek through beautiful landscape to Suoi Ho village, home to Hmong minority. From here you can enjoy views over endless rice terraces, and you will have the opportunity to see some of the animals used by the locals. Continuing on to Matra village you will see a church dating back to the French occupation in the early 1900s. Take a minute to visit and take some photos. The trek continues to Ta Phin and you will be able to meet both Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities. The Red Dao are known for their expertise in herbal medicine as well as usage of plants from the land to treat many illnesses. You can try the herbal bath to feel better with your legs after a day of trekking. A Red Dao herbal bath can be arranged for you to experience, so please ask. You will arrive with a warmly welcome and a cup of tea from the homestay. During your night stay, you can watch or learn how to cook and prepare the herbal bath.
Day 2
While still in bed, you can already smell the good and spicy breakfast from the kitchen , or hearing the owner stirring the powder to make banana pancakes for your breakfast. After breakfast you will pack with your guide the take away lunch in banana leaves for a stop on the way. Your group will walk a bit out of the village to reach nature and walk through a small forest with a buffalo trail . Along the walk , you are able to spot quite some wild ea table and cardamom plants growing just on the side of the path. Lunch will be just on a good view spot where you will choose yourself. After lunch a little walk toward Ban Khoang village for the pick up.
Option 3
Day 1
Start at 9am for 20 minutes drive to Center Ta Phin village and begin the trek. You will walk around the village to explore and learn a bit of the Red Dao’s way of living. After that you will move out of the village to reach the nature and small forest with buffalo trail . Along the walk , you are able to spot quite some wild eat able and cardamom plants. Picnic will be taken with you so you will have lunch on your way to Suoi Thau village. After lunch continue your trek on the nice terraced views to where you will spend your overnight stay. You can also ask to prepare the herbal bath for you when you arrive.
Day 2
Waking up in very fresh and cool air from nature. Have your breakfast and start your new day again through rice paddies and forest to Ta Giang Phin after 8km of trek. Ta Giang is a village of 2 different tribes which are: Zay and Black Hmong, living in piece.Once you have reached the village, have your lunch here and the car will pick up for return to Sapa town.
